How Miraculous Ladybug Helped Me Remember What's Important

I have had a busy week. With family dinners, cooking the stuffing and pies, kids running around and catching up through small talk with family members. After the Thanksgiving festivities is all said and done, I am left reeling from the chaos of the past week and trying to process everything that has happened.

As strange as it sounds the show Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir had an impact on how I remembered what's really important this Thanksgiving. I know it’s weird but stick with me, I use to only think of family as loving but mostly annoying. When I was younger I never wanted to go to family events just to have small talk and act like a cared. I have since grown up and realized how precious family is, thorough the death of a grandparent as well as many other aspects we all face eventually in life.

I have not felt the desperate need to not go to family events in a very long while until this year. I would like to state I love all of my family dearly and wouldn't trade them for anything. This year however I felt some whisps of that long ago desperation crawling back, until I pushed the feeling away with remembering the Miraculous show. I know what you must be thinking “this is insane, how could a show have such an impact on something so real?”

I have always gotten very attached to fictional characters and fallen in love with their stories, so it shouldn't be a big surprise to find shows have some influence in my life. Granted the show itself wasn't 100% the reason I became happy to head out this Thanksgiving but it was a factor. I thought of Adrien and how he has lost his Mother, it reminded me to not take advantage of the people around me because you never know what will happen. I also thought of Marinette and her family. How they show their love and respect for each other, reminded me to show my family how much I love them. As sappy as it is this show helped me get through Thanksgiving and truly be thankful for what I have.

I hope this glance into my Thanksgiving has inspired you to be thankful. Has this show had some kind of impact on you in your life? Write me and tell me your story.
